Republican House District 114 candidate Javier Enriquez is holding a campaign fundraiser this week in Coral Gables.
The fundraiser will be held Wednesday evening at The Boardroom, 270 Catalonia Ave., from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Those looking to attend can let the campaign know by sending an email to [email protected] or by calling 786-200-9419.
Enriquez, an attorney and lifelong resident of the district, filed earlier this month and is currently the only Republican running for the seat, which covers a portion of Miami-Dade County.
“District 114 has always been my home,” Enriquez said when announcing his candidacy. “It would be an honor and a privilege to serve my friends and neighbors in Tallahassee. I am committed to supporting policies that foster economic growth, empower the middle class, and help families and small businesses get ahead.”
Democrat Javier Fernandez was elected to the seat in a May 1 special election, beating Republican Andrew Vargas by nearly 5 points. He has not yet filed paperwork to run for re-election in the fall.
Also running for the seat are Democrats Ross Hancock and Albert Santana, though Hancock appears to be winding down his campaign – last month he repaid $15,000 of a $20,000 loan he used to kickstart his campaign.
