CATECOMM, the juggernaut of Florida public relations, ads, and campaign consulting, is bringing on Michael Starr Hopkins.
Hopkins is a veteran of the Obama ’08 & ’12 and Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaigns, firm principal and communications savant Kevin Cate told Florida Politics.
Hopkins also is a former public defender, and a prolific cable news guest.
The Democratic activist also had filed to challenge incumbent U.S. Sen. Bob Menendez of New Jersey in the Democratic primary.
But he withdrew earlier this year, “saying he could not raise enough money to wage a viable challenge,” according to NJ.com.
He’ll be based in St. Petersburg and joins the firm during a very busy election cycle, Cate said, including involvement with three major statewide campaigns in Florida.
CATECOMM represents some of the largest corporations, non-profit groups, and associations in the state. It also publishes Above the Fold Florida and owns Rocket Lobby, billed as the “most advanced advocacy tool of all-time.”
