Firefighters’ union endorse David Smith in HD 28 race

David Smith

The Seminole County firefighters union is backing Republican state House candidate David Smith, according to his campaign.

The endorsement by the Seminole County Professional Fire Fighters Union Local 3254 follows that of the Fraternal Order of Police backing Smith announced last week.

He faces Democrat Lee Mangold in a battle for the HD 28 seat representing east Seminole County, being vacated by the departure of Republican state Rep. Jason Brodeur.

“After spending time with you and getting to know you, we truly believe the State of Florida needs your leadership.” IAFF Local 3254 President Jon DiVita stated in an endorsement letter to Smith. “Seminole County needs an experienced leader like you representing us in Tallahassee.”
