Top Senate Republicans will hit the links in Ponte Vedra Beach next month to raise money for the main political committee supporting GOP Senate campaigns.
The golf outing fundraiser, benefitting the Florida Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee, will be held Sept. 12-13 at TPC Sawgrass.
The invitation says the first day will feature a VIP dinner while the second will includes a luncheon and a round of golf on THE PLAYERS Stadium Course, the home of the Players Championship. A group rate is available at the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa.
The invitation doesn’t list which Senators will tee up, nor does it disclose a minimum donation to attend.
FRSCC is a party affiliated committee charged with maintaining the Republican majority in the state Senate.
It spent more than $35 million last election cycle to much success — Democrats launched competitive campaigns in several Senate districts in 2018, but only one battleground went their way.
The current split is 23 Republicans and 17 Democrats. In 2020, fewer seats are expected to be in play.
The committee, chaired by Senate President Bill Galvano, reeled in $710,000 in the second quarter and has $478,000 in the bank.
By comparison, the Florida Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee, chaired by Ft. Lauderdale Sen. Gary Farmer, raised $146,500 in the second quarter and has a little over $25,000 on hand.
