Gov. Rick Scott is going to use his inauguration day speech to urge residents from other states to move here because of Florida’s lower taxes.
The Republican governor will be sworn into a second term Tuesday. Scott narrowly won re-election in November.
After he is sworn in, Scott will give a speech arguing that limiting the size of government and cutting taxes is helping Florida’s economy recover. State government does have fewer employees under Scott, but the budget has grown.
Scott’s swearing-in is just one of a handful of events scheduled for inauguration day. Scott, however, has scaled back from four years ago. He is not holding a large black-tie inaugural ball or holding a parade through the streets of the capital.
