Converge GPS has brought on a new Senior Public Affairs and Communications Director.

The public strategy firm announced Thursday that it selected Anna Alexopoulos Farrar for the position, which includes taking a leading role with the firm’s campaigns and public affairs and communications clients.

“At Converge, our goal is to always be two steps ahead of the field. We continue to grow our multistate teams and attract talent that disrupts the status quo. Anna has 15 years of communications and public affairs experience, but it’s her reputation for developing innovative strategies and effecting significant change that will not only complement, but strengthen our existing team,” said Jonathan Kilman, chairman and partner at Converge GPS.

Alexopoulos Farrar most recently served as a Deputy Chief Financial Officer for Florida CFO Jimmy Patronis, one of the highest positions within the office.

“I’m thrilled to join all of the talented and creative partners and employees of Converge GPS. While other firms dip their toe in the communications pool, Converge GPS is already on their fourth lap. Having worked in this industry for more than a decade, Jonathan’s vision and direction is a cut above the rest,” Alexopoulos Farrar said.

Her prior experience includes serving as communications director for the CFO’s office. She has also worked at a public relations agency, and has spent most of her career working in the communications, public affairs and political realm, having cut her teeth at a young age in Broward County politics.

This new hire comes on the heels of other major expansions at Converge GPS.

Last year, Converge opened an office in New York City focused on supporting clients in the area of grant funding. The opening included the hire of Bruce Rudolph, who had overseen over $1 billion in capital grants for New York City.

Converge also recently expanded its multistate group in Boston with the hire of David Fifer.
