House District 24 hopeful Paul Renner continued collecting piles of campaign cash, adding $61,875 during December, according to reports filed Monday with the state Division of Elections.
Renner, a Palm Coast Republican, is running for the Jan. 27 GOP primary, with an overall fundraising total as of Dec. 31 of $138,375. He has spent $111,026 so far.
Renner is seeking to replace Elkton Republican Rep. Travis Hutson, who himself is running in the special election for the Senate District 6 seat held by former Sen. John Thrasher of St. Augustine. Thrasher resigned in November to become Florida State University president.
House District 24 covers Flagler County and portions of St. Johns and Volusia Counties.
One candidate running against Renner in the primary is St. Augustine Republican Ron Sanchez, who raised a total of $1,950 as of Dec. 31, as well as loaning $6,300 to the campaign.
As for the others, the report from Republican Danielle Anderson is still pending as of late Monday afternoon.
The primary winner faces St. Augustine Democrat Adam Morley in the special general election on April 7. Morley raised only $573 as of the end of December.
