Ron DeSantis denounces ‘cabal’ at White House Correspondents’ Dinner after program misprint

Desantis, Ron - 4
'I think that's a reputation that's been well-deserved.'

In Jacksonville, Gov. Ron DeSantis offered withering comments Monday on the White House Correspondents’ Dinner and what he called the “cabal” at the heart of the event.

DeSantis was listed erroneously in the program as an attendee at the event, which the Governor would not let stand.

“So, I never. I would never attend that. I have no interest in that. I did not watch it. I do not care what they do,” DeSantis said. “But for them to advertise me when that invitation was rejected by my office, that is a lie.”

“And so here they are saying how important they are, that they’re somehow these paragons of truth, and yet there they are lying about something that was readily verifiable,” DeSantis continued.

“And so, the idea that I was there was false, the idea that I ever would have gone is false, and why they would want to perpetuate a lie about that, I don’t know. But I think it just shows you why that cabal of people in D.C. and New York are so reviled by so many Americans,” DeSantis added. “I think that’s a reputation that’s been well-deserved.”

Although the Governor wasn’t at the event, DeSantis took fire from host Trevor Noah and President Joe Biden.

Noah tweaked DeSantis for purported presidential ambitions, comparing him quasi-favorably to political mentor Donald Trump.

“[If] Trump was the original Terminator, DeSantis is like the T-1000,’ Noah said. ‘You’re smarter than him; you’re slicker than him; you can walk down ramps.”

Noah turned his attention to math books being culled for content about social-emotional learning and critical race theory, contending DeSantis was dumbing Floridians down with book bans.

“Because you see, Trump said he won the election, but everyone was just able to look at the numbers and see he was wrong. That’s why Ron DeSantis is one step ahead,” Noah said. “First, you ban the math textbooks; then, nobody knows how to count the votes.”

Biden, meanwhile, made sport of DeSantis’ feud with Disney over the Parental Rights in Education law.

Ronald Reagan said, ‘Mr. Gorbachev, tear this wall down,” Biden said. “Today’s Republicans say, ‘Tear down Mickey Mouse’s house.’ And pretty soon, they’ll be storming Cinderella’s Castle; you can be sure of it.”

Errors DO happen. That’s why we’re called humans. Even DeSantis has made mistakes. And of course TFG can’t go a day without a huge gaffe, even now that he’s OUT of office and soon to be IN prison.

For an alleged TOUGH GUY, our governor appears to be a cry baby,
He should be talking more about the high rents, high property insurance rates, and real kitchen table issues that Floridians are facing. He needs to let us know how he will resolve these issues.

Just wondering if DeSantis’s people stated that he would be attending the dinner as a set up so Ronnie could make an issue about “nothing”.

Tjb, how you like Florida’s $20 billion in financial reserves. All state collected revenues. $763 million for April on top of over $600 million in March. Florida the best state due to America’s Gov, Ron.
