Gov. Rick Scott appointed veteran Florida lawyer Marc Dunbar to the Northwest Florida Water Management District’s governing board.
Dunbar, 44, of Tallahassee, is a partner with the Jones Walker LLP national law firm and an adjunct professor at the Florida State University College of Law.
Prior to his tenure at Jones Walker, Dunbar was Assistant General Counsel and Communications Director for the Florida Department of State, where he received the Davis Productivity Award from Florida TaxWatch, which recognizes state employees for exemplary service to Florida’s taxpayers.
An expert in Florida gaming law, Dunbar is a member of the invitation-only International Masters of Gaming Law, a nonprofit association of international lawyers, regulators, educators, executives and consultants, all dedicated to education and the interchange of professional information concerning all facets of gaming law.
After receiving his bachelor’s degree from Florida State University, Dunbar earned a law degree from the Florida State University College of Law. He fills a vacant seat for a term ending March 1, 2018.
The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
