Ron DeSantis dodges reporter’s question about what happens if his kids turn out to be ‘gay or trans’
Congratulations to Casey DeSantis, who is celebrating another trip around the sun.

DeSantis family
'We'll leave that — we’ll leave that between my wife and I.'

The ongoing reboot of the Ron DeSantis campaign continues, with a TIME Magazine interview that focuses on family issues.

Those following the 2024 campaign know that the Governor’s three children, MadisonMason and Mamie, have been central not just to campaign speeches but to the actual events themselves. Along with First Lady Casey DeSantis, they have shown up at many events.

While DeSantis was willing to discuss many issues regarding his family with reporter Molly Ball, others were off the table, including how Mr. and Mrs. DeSantis would handle finding out if one of their children was gay or transgender.

“Well, my children are my children,” DeSantis told TIME. “We’ll leave that — we’ll leave that between my wife and I.”

DeSantis, who has signed off on legislation such as the Parental Rights in Education bill, has mocked efforts to accommodate students who may identify as part of the LGBT community through using preferred pronouns.

“We never did this through all of human history until like, what, two weeks ago?” DeSantis said when signing the Parental Rights expansion earlier this year. “Now this is something, they’re having third graders declare pronouns. We’re not doing the pronoun Olympics in Florida.”

The Board of Education, which has members appointed by DeSantis, expanded the Parental Rights in Education bill to cover the entirety of K-12 this year, stretching it from the original K-3 framework.

Students have also been prohibited this year from using a preferred nickname without a signed form of parental authorization.

DeSantis also signed legislation this year banning gender-affirming care, saying it was a move to “outlaw the mutilation of minors.” SB 254 bans physicians from providing people under the age of 18 access to any “sex reassignment prescriptions or procedures,” but contains exemptions for minors born with a “medically verifiable genetic disorder of sexual development.”

Though the state is asserting a compelling interest in the sexual orientation and gender identity of minors, the Governor’s comments to TIME suggest that despite his public policy stance, he and the First Lady regard issues pertaining to their family as a private matter.

When you read about homeless gay and lesbian children living on the streets of America’s cities you should know that they were raised to hate themselves by parents just like Ron and Casey.

At least one of his kids will be like Ted Cruz’s daughter, who recoils in disgust at her father for what he says, what he does, and the vile, cruel creature he has become.

Rhonda must not be aware of all the outrage and hoopla caused when “Ms” became an alternative to “Mrs.”

The USA was going to hell because the women folk didn’t think their marital status needed to be included in their gender ~title.

What actually happened? All the outraged folks are dead now, but the USA survived.

In fact, Rhonda’s Covid strategy helped end the lives of some of the folks who were outraged about “Ms” sooner rather than later.

If Rhonda hadn’t killed those folks, he might be doing less badly in the polls. They were 100% with Rhonda against confusing changes to pronouns.

Supposing Rhonda hits the conservative jackpot and all their kids are straight.

What will Rhonda do when his son brings home a black girlfriend?

What will Rhonda do when one of his daughters bring home a black boyfriend?

LOL @ Stupid Rhonda, All Uptight About Everything But Nothing

He’ll do what most of the American Taliban does to their kids: send them to conversion therapy or throw them out. One of the first things he did when he took office was appoint 2 judges who publicly supported conversion therapy.

How is it that DeSantis can make decisions on everyone else’s lives but when it comes to his kids, that’s between him and his wife. If DeSantis and his wife can make choices for their kids then he needs to leave the rest of the world along with their families and let them make their own choices.

All for me – none for thee. That’s how.

Did you not know that He is the smartest person in Florida and knows better than anyone else? Did you not also know that unless you meet his ultra-straight and narrow criteria, you are worthless and undeserving of any freedom. Do not dare question Him.

Maybe Ron DeSantis should take a step back or 2 or 3 and think about what he is doing to Florida and to people on it. and he wonders why his polls are so low??? Your ideas should be considered before you say anything. You are not helping the situation and the people you are making decisions about how we should raise our children and when asked about yours it’s between you and your wife!!! That’s all well and good, but you should leave us the same privilege , to us and the same responsibility for the schools that have been teaching the same things for years and now it’s changed!! To tell you the truth you are making people dislike you more then liking you!!!!! I know it’s a big state, but everyone has their own way of doing things, and opinions don’t force your opinions on us!!!

    “Gender-affirming care.” 😂

Try forced sterilization on children. It’s similar to masking the murder of the unborn with euphemisms like “elective termination.”

Leave the kids alone. Let them mature into adults so they can make their own decisions lemmings.

Oh, so you’re saying it should be a personal matter and not left up to government to make choices for us? Thanks for clearing that up Ronald.

‘We’ll leave that — we’ll leave that between my wife and I.’
Not only is DeSantis’s grammar flawed, so is his thinking.

For those, equally grammar-challenged: The objective case follows a preposition and a verb, among other instances.
It should be..”.between my wife and me.”
He makes a lot of grammatical mistakes; too many for a Yale/Harvard graduate.

Ronnie hate against the LGBTQ is a form of self hate.
When will Ronnie come out of the closet? Will Casey tell?

He and his wife will make decisions not only for his own children, but for yours and mine as well. That’s “freedom,” right?
