Amendment 4 seeks to enshrine abortion rights in the state constitution.

A new political action committee is launching to fight against the abortion rights initiative on the Nov. 5 ballot.

A press release noting the launch of Life First PC said the group has a “singular mission: to defeat Amendment Four, a proposed extreme pro-abortion amendment to the Florida Constitution.”

“Life First PC is committed to protecting the sanctity of life and ensuring that the voices of the unborn are heard and defended,” the release added.

It’s not the only group raising money against Amendment 4.

Florida Voters Against Extremism has raised about $1.5 million, including $100,000 from the Diocese of Venice and $15,000 from the Florida Conference of Catholic Bishops. Meanwhile, Floridians Protecting Freedom, which is sponsoring Amendment 4, has raised $39 million so far.

Florida currently has a six-week abortion ban.

A new poll showed 69% in support of Amendment 4 — enough for it to meet the 60% threshold to pass and enshrine abortion rights into the state constitution.

Amendment 4 says, “No law shall prohibit, penalize, delay, or restrict abortion before viability or when necessary to protect the patient’s health, as determined by the patient’s healthcare provider.”

The ballot language also specifically says Amendment 4 “does not change the Legislature’s constitutional authority to require notification to a parent or guardian before a minor has an abortion.”

However, Life First claims on its website the amendment “allows minors to have an abortion without parental consent and parental notification.”

Life First PC, seeking to bring out “40.1% of the voters” to reject Amendment 4, called the initiative “a direct threat to the values of life and protection that many Floridians hold dear.”

“Life First PC stands resolute in opposing this amendment and advocating for a culture that respects and upholds the dignity of life from conception to natural death,” the press release added.

A grassroots effort helped get the abortion rights initiative on the ballot. The campaign has faced opposition from the state. The latest challenge is the campaign’s legal battle attempting to remove a “financial impact statement” that is set to appear on the ballot warning about potential legal costs and more if Florida voters pass it.

“Dignity of life” is the self-evident price we owe each other for the privilege of calling ourselves human, but this Stygian culture is comprised of people who would blithely snatch that dignity of life away from the most helpless among us for a reason no greater than convenience–that their pregnant body won’t fit into their new bathing suit.

2 and really, only 2 issues here.
First, If this PC’s mission is as stated above, where is the commitment to the “born”, you know, their rights to be heard and defended?
Secondly, a PAC, Legislators, or anyone else, doesn’t get a stake in the decision. Period, the end.

Hey, “Science”, I’m not spending my time advocating for the above, but your question and your objection simply can’t go unanswered. First, there is no requirement that any group that advocates for any position take up the cause of dealing with the consequences of that advocacy. If there were, then Just Stop Oil would be required to spend its resources advocated for displaced oil workers. Second, a PAC is made up of people who live, breathe and vote and most certainly do have a stake in a decision. Your objection crashes into the example of labor unions: do you think the AFL-CIO have a stake in legislation because it passes some ridiculous test of moral virtue while the pro-lifers don’t?:
