Governor caps off week with ten university board of trustee reappointments

Gov. Rick Scott finished the week with ten reappointments to a variety of state University and college system Boards of Trustees. All appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.

Florida Atlantic University Board of Trustees

Scott started with two reappointments: Dr. Jeffrey Feingold and Robert Rubin to the Florida Atlantic University Board of Trustees. Each are for a term ending January 6, 2020.

Feingold, 69, of Delray Beach, is president and chief executive officer of MCNA Dental Plans and Dentaland Dental Centers. Rubin, 53, of Boca Raton, is president of Rubin Wealth Advisors.

University of West Florida Board of Trustees

Scott then reappointed Lewis Bear Jr. to the University Of West Florida Board Of Trustees.

Bear, 74, of Gulf Breeze, is president of the Lewis Bear Company. His reappointment ends January 6, 2020.

Florida State University Board of Trustees

Scott also reappointed Brent Sembler to the Florida State University Board of Trustees.

Sembler, 57, of Pinellas Park, is vice chair of the Sembler Company and a bachelor’s graduate from the Florida State University. Sembler reappointment ends January 6, 2020.

Florida Polytechnic University Board of Trustees

The Governor then announced the reappointment of Robert Stork to the Florida Polytechnic University Board of Trustees.

Stork, 62, of Vero Beach, is chief executive officer of Communications International Inc. His reappointment ends June 30, 2018.

University of South Florida Board of Trustees

Scott reappointed Byron Shinn and Jordan Zimmerman to the University Of South Florida Board Of Trustees. Both reappointments end January 6, 2020.

Shinn, 57, of Bradenton, is a certified public accountant and president of Shinn and Company LLC. A graduate of University of South Florida, Shinn previously served as a member of the Florida Board of Accountancy.

Zimmerman, 59, of Boca Raton, is founder and chair of Zimmerman Advertising and currently serves as a member of the Pine Crest School Board of Trustees. He is also was a graduate of the University of South Florida.

Gulf Coast State College District Board of Trustees

Scott continued with three reappointments to the Gulf Coast State College District Board of Trustees. Each reappointment ends May 31, 2018.

Katie Patronis, 37, of Panama City, is a realtor for Century 21 Ryan Realty. Ralph Roberson, 62, of Port St. Joe, is a certified public accountant with Roberson & Associates. Joe Tannehill Jr., 47, of Panama City, is president and chief executive officer of Merrick Industries.
