Donald Trump to hold telerallies for Randy Fine, Jimmy Patronis

Special Elections in CD 1 and CD 6, both Republican-leaning districts, will be settled Tuesday.

President Donald Trump will host remote rallies for congressional candidates Randy Fine and Jimmy Patronis ahead of Special Elections.

Both rallies will take place Thursday evening. Patronis announced an event at 5 p.m. Central Standard Time. The Panama City Republican encouraged voters to call 833-305-1698 to listen in.

“Hear from the President on why the election for CD-1 is so important to not only families in the Panhandle but the entire nation!” Patronis posted on X. “Let’s swamp the vote.”

Shortly after, a rally for Fine will kick off at 6:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Those interested can call in to 833-380-0653 to listen in.

“This is your chance to hear directly from me and President Trump what is at stake this election and why we need your vote on April 1st,” Fine, a Palm Bay Republican, posted on X. “See you tonight.”

Patronis faces Democrat Gay Valimont in a race to succeed former U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz. Fine is up against Democrat Josh Weil in the contest to replace former U.S. Rep. Michael Waltz. Republicans hold strong voter registration advantages in both districts, and the state party said Trump’s appearance shows continued support among the party base for the President.

“The tele rallies that President Trump is doing for Jimmy Patronis and Randy Fine show that these are important elections for Florida and the nation,” said Evan Power, Republican Party of Florida Chair. “It is imperative that every Republican in CD 1 and CD 6 get out and cast their ballots for the Trump endorsed candidates.”

As of the March 3 closing of voter rolls, CD 1 was home to around 312,000 Republicans registered and eligible to vote in the election, compared to fewer than 119,000 Democrats and about 136,000 registered without party affiliation or with minor parties.

Meanwhile, CD 6 had more than 273,000 Republicans registered, compared to just over 142,000 Democrats, while another more than 143,000 other voters.

But Democrats, facing the first federal elections since Trump’s return to the White House, have both outraised their Republican opponents, raising the level of attention on both races. As of March 12, Valimont reported $6.5 million in total contributions compared to Patronis’ $2.1 million in CD 1. In CD 6, Weil reported upward of $9.5 million to Fine’s under $1 million.

This has attracted attention from both parties, who are working to turn out their voters at high levels.

What will Trump promote? Lax national security? Closing of Social Security offices? Firing of hurricane forecasters? All are very popular with his base — may lead them to turn out and further the decline of America. Of course, it is far more likely that he will waste the time belly-aching about his personal grievances, playing the greatest hits from yesteryear. Maybe the trip down memory lane will make up for the missing social Security payments for some geezers.

Don’t forget the decimation of FEMA and the hit to retirement accounts as Trumponomics wreaks havoc on financial markets worldwide. I’m sure all Floridians will be thrilled with the 80,000 people being fired from the Veterans Administration.

Right Side media did not even have time to get a link to this up on YouTube. Hard to see how this will do anything but tickle the already MAGA. I am glad Trump did not rush an in-person rally at some out of the way field – I always thought Trump had more to fear from Florida gun nuts than Pennsylvania ones.

Randy Fine is an awful candidate. I don’t think he’s going to lose but I hope this teaches the GOP to not get overconfident.

If he was confident of a Fine win, Trump would show up in person…
