Poll: Ron DeSantis, Rick Scott stay above water, but among least popular elected officials in country

DESANTIS SCOTT SBS 11..11.24
DeSantis is way down from his peak, but Scott's doing as well as ever.

Newly released surveys from Morning Consult are mostly good news for Florida’s Governor and senior Senator.

The polling, which is derived from a three-month tracking survey, shows both Gov. Ron DeSantis and U.S. Sen. Rick Scott essentially holding the same favorability that they did when data was released after the final quarter of 2024.

But a lot of their colleagues are much better situated than the two Sunshine State Republicans.

Scott is at 48% approval against 40% disapproval, matching the number of maverick Republican U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska.

Just 10 Senators have lower approval ratings, all of them Republicans.

Scott’s +8 overall rating is right in line with where he sat at the end of last year, when he had a 49% approval rating against 41% disapproval.

Scott has been in positive territory since Winter 2020, with 49% his peak approval.

DeSantis is at 54% approval against 41% disapproval, with the latter number making him the sixth-most unpopular Governor in the country. His +13 overall ties him with California Gov. Gavin Newsom.

DeSantis is up +2 overall from the end of last year, when he had 53% approval against 42% disapproval.

His peak was in Q1 of 2020, when he had 63% approval against 25% disapproval.

Both are about as welcome as a turd in the proverbial punchbowl. The rest of the country is simply not interested in what they are peddling.

Hirono and Bluemethal come to mind when you mention turds.

So does Tulsi Gabbard but you were kind enough to take her off our hands. Thanks for that. She’s a much better fit where she is now.

DeSantis should start planning on getting a job out of politics. He won’t be president.
