Ralph Massullo has picked up another big-name endorsement in his quest for the Senate District 11 Special Election.
U.S. Sen. Rick Scott announced he is backing Massullo, a former eight-year Florida House member who left office in 2024.
“Ralph Massullo has a strong, conservative record and he is committed to make sure Florida remains the best state to live, work and raise a family,” Scott said. “I’ve worked with Ralph Massullo in our state’s Capitol and he is committed to public service and has a strong devotion to our Constitution. I’m proud to support him and look forward to continuing to work with him in the State Senate.”
Massullo said he is humbled to receive Scott’s backing.
“Receiving the endorsement of Senator Scott, a dedicated public servant and former Governor whose leadership has shaped Florida for the better, is both an honor and a humbling reminder of the work ahead,” Massullo said.
“I had the privilege of serving in the Legislature during his time as Governor and witnessed firsthand his commitment and vision for a stronger, more prosperous future for our state. Senator Scott’s trust means the world to me, and together we will continue to uphold the values that make Florida great.”
Massullo, a Lecanto dermatologist, faces Inverness rancher Anthony Brice in Sept. 30 Republican Primary. The winner faces Democrat Ash Marwah, a civil engineer from The Villages, in the Dec. 9 Special General Election.
Massullo is hoping to succeed Blaise Ingoglia, the Spring Hill Republican whom Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed as Chief Financial Officer. DeSantis and Ingoglia are both backing Massullo.
Other Massullo backers include U.S. Reps. Gus Bilirakis, Randy Fine, Mike Haridopolos and Daniel Webster, state Reps. JJ Grow, Jeff Holcomb and John Temple, Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson, the Sheriffs of Citrus and Pasco counties, the Florida Chamber of Commerce and the Associated Industries of Florida.
