Gov. Rick Scott announced 15 appointments – including 11 reappointments – to a variety of state regulatory boards.
Flagler County Housing Authority
Scott began with the announcement of two reappointments to the Flagler County Housing Authority, each for a term ending December 15, 2018.
Robert DeVereux, 65, of Palm Coast, is a financial advisor with Ameriprise Financial Services. He currently chairs the board. William Seeney, 76, of Palm Coast, is retired from corporate management.
Board of Orthotists and Prosthetists
Scott next announced one appointment and two reappointments to the Board of Orthotists and Prosthetists, which oversees licensed providers of designed, fabricated and fitted orthotic and prosthetic devices.
David Cheong, 41, of Tampa, is an orthopaedic oncologist with the Orthopaedic Associates of West Florida. He fills a vacant seat for a term ending October 31, 2017.
Brett Saunders, 50, of Orlando, is a licensed orthotist and prosthetist with the Saunders Prosthetics Orthotics Group. His reappointment is for a term ending October 31, 2018.
Ruphlal Gooljar, 67, of St. Augustine, is the director of orthotics and prosthetics for Nemours Children’s Clinic. His reappointment is also for a term ending October 31, 2018.
Scott also made one appointment and three reappointments to the Florida Building Commission, which is responsible for the Florida Building Code.
Richard Goff, 62, of Niceville, is the president of KG II Development. He fills a vacant seat for a term ending January 21, 2019.
Oscar Calleja, 66, of Palmetto Bay, is the vice president of Engineered Air LLC. His reappointment is for a term ending February 3, 2019.
Frederick Schilling, 65, of Boca Raton, is the chief executive officer of Pipeline Plumbing. His reappointment is for a term ending January 31, 2019.
James Schock, 67, of St. Augustine, is the plans examiner for St. Johns County. His reappointment is for a term ending January 12, 2019.
The appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
Scott announced the appointment of Dr. Randi Mackintosh and the reappointment of Mary O’Brien to the Board of Psychology, which oversees licensing, monitoring, disciplining and educating psychologists to assure competency and safety to practice in Florida.
Mackintosh, 30, of Tallahassee, is a staff psychologist and the outreach director for the Florida State University Counseling Center. She fills a vacant seat for a term ending October 31, 2018.
O’Brien, 72, of North Palm Beach, is retired. She was an attorney with the Department of Business and Professional Regulation from 1994 to 2000 and the Department of Health from 2000 to 2008. O’Brien’s reappointment is for a term ending October 31, 2018.
Both appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
Continuing Care Advisory Council
Finally, Scott made one appointment and three reappointments to the Continuing Care Advisory Council, which advises the Office of Insurance Regulation any changes in statutes and rules pertaining to Continuing Care Retirement Communities.
Marshall “Trey” Gunn II, 30, of Jacksonville, is a partner at Gunn Chamberlain. He succeeds Dennis Schelper for a term ending September 30, 2016.
Peter Dys, 70, of Fort Myers, is the president of Shell Point Retirement Community. His reappointment is for a term ending September 30, 2017.
Troy Hart, 52, of Gainesville, is president of SantaFe Senior Living. His reappointment is for a term ending September 30, 2017.
Roger Stevens, 64, of Windermere, is chief executive officer of Westminster Communities of Florida. His reappointment is also for a term ending September 30, 2017.
