Jesse Jackson to GOTV with Duval Dems Saturday

Of the early voting locations in Duval County, Jacksonville’s Legends Community Center has been among the lowest performing thus far.

That changes on Saturday, as the Duval Democrats will hold a GOTV rally there starting at 10:30.

The rally will be headlined by Rev. Jesse Jackson, who arrives at the Northwest Jacksonville location at noon.

Jackson’s 1984 and 1988 Democratic primary campaigns were unsuccessful, yet historically significant, as he outperformed media expectations by galvanizing populist support with a number of visionary positions.

Also potentially on hand: former President Bill Clinton, whose “Stronger Together” bus tour takes him from Jacksonville to Gainesville Saturday.
