Associated Industries of Florida soirée kicks off 2018 Legislative Session

The tradition continues.

Associated Industries of Florida will host its annual pre-session welcome back reception for legislators, lobbyists and a host of other politicos this evening.

Doors open for the ticketed event at 5:30 p.m.

“AIF is excited for our annual legislative reception this evening that we’ve been hosting for more than four decades,” AIF President and CEO Tom Feeney said.

“Each year, this time-honored tradition is eagerly anticipated by thousands of attendees as the start of the legislative session,” he added. “From the governor and cabinet members, to elected officials and community leaders, this event provides a great opportunity for our guests to come together prior to session convening.”

The party is at AIF Headquarters, 516 North Adams St.

Each year, event organizers plan for about 2,000 guests to attend. That means 200 pounds of steamed shrimp, 30 gallons of pasta and 15 gallons of ice cream.

Another bit of good news: Uber is offering a free ride (up to $10) to and from the event. Use the promo code “AIF2018” to redeem.

But note: The promotional rate is not open to public officials and employees, and expires at midnight.
