Political writer Jeremy Wallace moves to Tampa Bay Times

Florida State Capitol Building

Sarasota Herald-Tribune political writer Jeremy Wallace is crossing the Sunshine Skyway for a role as state government reporter at the Tampa Bay Times.

Wallace, who has been at the Herald-Tribune since 2004, made the announcement on his Facebook page. He will be based out of Tallahassee.

“Not only is it simply the best newspaper in Florida,” he wrote, “It also allows me and my beautiful bride to return to Tallahassee where we met and started building our family. By the same token, I will never be able to express how much Sarasota-Manatee has meant to me and my family.

“Thanks to all the readers who by your engagement allowed me to do what I love.”

In addition to the Herald-Tribune’s Political Insider blog, Wallace’s résumé includes time as a television panelist at WEDU PBS in Tampa, as well at the Hudson Valley Journal News and as state Capitol bureau chief for the Bradenton Herald.
