Gov. Rick Scott’s political committee, Let’s Get to Work, raised $275,000 in May, including a $100,000 check from Jupiter businessman and trustee of the DeGeorge Charitable Trust, Lawrence F. DeGeorge.

The contributions push the committee’s yearly total to $2.6 million, though they are markedly lower than the monster hauls brought in during the Legislative Session months of March ($1 million) and April ($687,500).

The total came from just 16 contributions, including contributions from three divisions of Scott’s former company, Hospital Corporation of America, which combined to $100,000. Dosal Tobacco and Florida Blue chipped in $25,000 a piece, with Ware Oil & Supply Co. making a $22,650 contribution.

May expenditures totaled $147,375, with the $116,081 going to Maryland-based political consulting and advertising firm On Message Inc. The company produced numerous ads for Let’s Get to Work and Scott in the campaign season and has been paid $5.5 million by the committee since it was reformed as a PAC in March 2014.

Tallahassee-based consulting firms NG Strategies and The Labrador Co. also got money from the PAC in May, leaving Let’s Get to Work with $255,375 cash on hand at month’s end.
