Look for “optimistic vision” from Lenny Curry inauguration speech

With less than a week to go until the inauguration of Jacksonville Mayor-elect Lenny Curry, a question some have is what to expect in his inauguration speech. Two things are for certain: His remarks will be directed toward a unified vision for Jacksonville, and will not be overly long, according to Curry spokesman Brian Hughes.

“Mayor-elect Curry is working on a brief address he will offer after the swearing-in. These remarks, like the campaign themes, will be his optimistic vision for moving Jacksonville forward as a city united to one purpose,” Hughes wrote in an email.

As Florida Politics reported, Curry and Sheriff-elect Mike Williams plan a joint inauguration on Wednesday. The mayor-elect and his wife Molly plan to hold an open house in the atrium of city hall during that evening’s Art Walk to meet and greet Jacksonville residents. Curry and Williams, and their wives, will be honorary hosts of Jacksonville’s Art Walk with the theme of “Art of Jacksonville.”
