House District 47 incumbent Republican Rep. Mike Miller on Wednesday welcomed Democratic challenger Henry Lim to the race for the battleground district.

In a phone conversation with Florida Politics, Miller said, “I welcome Mr. Lim to the race. I think it’s a opportunity to discuss the issues that are before the state of Florida now.

“We’ll probably have a very robust discussion on the direction Florida is going and I, as a member of the Legislature right now, am proud of the accomplishments we’ve made in the first year, in defending those accomplishments and talking more about better ways to make Florida a better place to raise a family.”

House 47 is in the heart of Orlando and has been designated as a “must-win” by both parties.

Miller was elected last year after winning competitive primary and general elections.
