Florida Politics has learned that Jay Demetree, one of the core supporters of the mayoral campaign of Lenny Curry, is in line to fill a vacancy on the Jacksonville Aviation Authority board.

The Curry administration is seeking his appointment for the unexpired term ending Sept. 30, to be followed by another four-year term.

Demetree chaired the “Fiscal Responsibility” subcommittee during the transition period.

He was also part of former mayor John Peyton‘s transition “dream team” in 2003.
