Gov. Rick Scott named Jacksonville business and real estate attorney Gary Wilkinson to the Fourth Judicial Circuit Court.
Wilkinson, 56, has been a shareholder at Bledsoe, Jacobson, Schmidt, Wright, Wilkinson & Sussman since 2006. His experience includes secured lending and lender liability; debtor/creditor rights; trade secrets; non-compete agreements and business contracts; as well as trust, estate, and fiduciary matters. Wilkinson has also been involved in administrative hearings at all levels of government.
“Throughout his career, Gary has demonstrated a strong understanding of the law,” Scott said in a statement. “I am confident he will do a great job on the Fourth Judicial Circuit Court.”
Previously, Wilkinson was a solo practitioner from 1999-2006, and practiced with Martin, Ade, Birchfield & Mickler, P.A. from 1988-1999. Wilkinson was a United States Army JAG Officer from 1986-1989, received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and law degree from Emory University.
Wilkinson fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge David C. Wiggins.
