Jeb Bush’s late-summer fundraising tour swings by Florida Monday, as the Republican presidential candidate comes to the Miami area for a big-ticket GOP reception.
The high-profile, $1,000-a-ticket private reception for the former governor begins 6 p.m. at the home of entrepreneur Manny Kadre and his wife Annie, 5345 Hammock Drive in Coral Gables.
A spot on the host committee, which includes a VIP reception and photo, will be $20,000 (either donated or raised); an individual photo op with Bush costs $2,700.
Event chairs include longtime Bush family friend Jorge Arrizurieta; Floridian Partners co-founder Rodney Barreto; David Browning of Southern Strategy Group; real estate entrepreneur Ed Easton; healthcare billionaire Mike Fernandez, developer Sergio Pino; and former House Speaker Will Weatherford.
The event comes as a recent fundraising e-mail from Jeb’s campaign features former President George W. Bush, who says his brother would “be a tremendous president.” The elder Bush added that Jeb “took on tough challenges as Florida’s governor and delivered results.”
“He’s got a tough road ahead — take it from someone who’s been there,” the email concludes.
