Seminole County Chief Deputy Dennis Lemma has received endorsements from three elected officials in his bid to be the next Seminole County sheriff.

He announced nods from Republican state Reps. Scott Plakon and Jason Brodeur, as well as Seminole and Brevard County State Attorney Phil Archer. Lemma made the announcements on social media Friday morning, saying he was sincerely honored and grateful for the support from the 3 Seminole County lawmakers.

Lemma is running to replace current Sheriff Don Eslinger, who announced his retirement last week after 38 years of public service, including 26 as sheriff. He is also supporting his chief deputy’s candidacy to succeed him. No one else is currently running.
