Wednesday night, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer joined local leaders to officially reveal details of the  2015 Calle Orange Festival, an annual celebration of the region’s Hispanic culture.

The Festival, now in its 17th year, has become one of the largest events in Orlando.

On Sunday, October 25, Calle Orange will fill the streets of downtown with thousands of spectators, taking as many as 10 city blocks. This year, the festival will honor Orlando Police Officers and Orange County Sheriff Deputies for bravery and dedication to the community.

“It’s an honor to officially announce one of the largest festivals in Orlando, Calle Orange,” Dyer said during the City Hall press conference. “This has become a tradition. To realize we’re on year 17 is fantastic. We have such a blend of cultures in our communities. We have something for everyone.”

Other elected officials on hand for the announcement included state Reps. Rene Plasencia, Victor Torres and John Cortes, Orange County Commissioner Pete Clarke and Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings.
