In front of a group of friends and supporters in downtown Orlando Thursday night, Greg Eisenberg officially began his campaign for Orange County Commission District 5.

Eisenberg, a real estate business director, discussed his plans for the county that include attention toward smart growth in transportation and infrastructure, and improving the local quality of living. He also focused on motivating  community involvement.

“It felt great to speak with our constituents, and really feel the support from them,” Eisenberg said.

Campaign officials revealed plans for the immediate future: to launch a neighborhood walk program, and speak with residents on primary concerns for the future of Orange County.

Notables attending the event included Orlando mayoral candidate Paul Paulson and Orange County District 3 candidate Bill Moore.

Eisenberg is challenging incumbent Ted Edwards in District 5, which consists of areas of parts of Maitland, Winter Park, and downtown and East Orlando.
