Most first-time candidates take a while to get their campaigns up and running. They generally need a few weeks of sorting out details, getting used to the lay of the land, setting up events, and just getting into the rhythm of making calls and so on.
Lauren Book is not your typical first-time candidate.
A few moments ago, Lauren posted that she just finished a complete box of thank-you notes to donors and supporters. We found this tidbit interesting as it may shed light on how her first 30 days on the campaign trail is going.
For those of you who know Book; have met with her, or – at this point in time – donated to her run for the state Senate, you know she is fastidious (OK, maybe a little obsessive) about sending hand-written thank you notes. It’s one of her things and anyone who has ever donated to her foundation or even stopped in to thank her for her work was sure to get her trademark note.
We have learned that Book’s campaign has had to order a second box of thank-you notes.
We have also learned that the box came with five hundred (500!) notes, the first of which is now nearly empty. We think that’s kind of an interesting factoid and thought you tea leave reading pols would think so too.
