Utah Congressman Jason Chaffetz has endorsed former Congresswoman Sandy Adams in her bid to return to Washington representing Florida’s 6th Congressional District.
“We need good people like Sandy Adams, who pour their heart and soul into doing the right thing, in Congress,” said Chaffetz. “I’ve seen her up-close-and-personal fight for our country. We need Sandy Adams back in Congress,”
Chaffetz is currently serving his fourth term in the U.S. House of Representatives. He is chairman of the House Oversight & Government Reform Committee and is considered one of the outsider’s picks, along with Orlando Congressman Daniel Webster, to oppose House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy in the House Speaker race to succeed John Boehner, who is retiring at the end of this month.
Adams was first elected to Congress in 2010, and served one term before redistricting forced a rare incumbent vs. incumbent contest in the 7th district in 2012 with John Mica, which she would lose. She’s running in the 6th Congressional District seat that is open after incumbent Ron DeSantis declared his bid for U.S Senate. She faces opposition from former New Symrna Mayor Adam Barringer.
