Florida Agriculture commissioner Adam Putnam raised over $323,000 in the third-quarter of this year in his amassing nearly $2 million for the political committee he created earlier this year.
Florida Grown, the name of the committee, has now raised a total of over $2.3 million – $2,394,383.22 to be exact.
Putnam is considered to be one of the leading Republicans for the governors seat in 2018, when incumbent Rick Scott will be term-limited out of office (though rumored to be running for the Senate that year).
The largest contribution over the past three months was two different checks totaling $75,000 from the Florida Jobs PAC, which has ties to the Florida Chamber of Commerce.
Florida Power & Light gave $50,000, as did the Hilliard Brothers of Florida. Chipping in for $35,000 was the Florida Retail Federation political committee.
Meanwhile, Attorney General Pam Bondi’s PAC, called Justice For All, showed some activity for the first time in 2015, though it was relatively modest. In August, the Florida Jobs PAC contributed $25,000. Swedish Match North America, a tobacco company in Virginia, kicked in the remaining $2,500.
