Email insights: “Friends of Congresswoman Corrine Brown” on “Republican dirty trick”

Corrine Brown $$$

Whodini posed the immortal question: “Friends – how many of us have them?”

In the case of U.S. Representative Corrine Brown, she has plenty, including two groups of them: “Friends of Corrine Brown” and her new posse, “Friends of Congresswoman Corrine Brown.”

And in a Friday afternoon email, the latter group warned about a “Republican dirty trick” intended to “silence your voice in Congress.”

Somewhat late to the game, the group informed email recipients of “North Florida Republicans … heard on a secret recording of a backroom meeting hatching a scheme to force Congresswoman Corrine Brown out of office by redrawing District 5 and packing it with 18 prisons.”

Of course, those “inside ball game, ok?” remarks were from U.S. Rep. Janet Adkins, and the recording documented a process rather than Adkins herself “hatching the scheme.”

As Too $hort said, “The game is to be sold, not to be told.”

The email includes a link to a Roland Martin segment, which mostly plays the Adkins recording, and also includes a link to the Corrine 2016 BlogSpot page (because presumably, they forgot their MySpace password) in which she explained why she went to court to fight proposed redistricting.

If sufficiently exercised, feel free to “[c]ontribute to Congresswoman Brown’s re-election campaign. Give whatever you can afford: $10, $20, up to $2,700.”

One might wonder why this email didn’t come out weeks ago.
