Tommy Hazouri gives the thumbs up to Joe Biden.

Hours after former Jacksonville Mayor John Delaney threw some cold water on the heated coverage of the Jacksonville Police and Fire Pension Fund “forensic audit,” another former mayor gave FloridaPolitics.com brief comments on the audit released this week.

Tommy Hazouri said he’s “going to thoroughly read the forensic audit,” all 143 pages of it, ahead of the Finance Committee and two public noticed meetings on pension reform on Monday.

He made an interesting point, expressing “wishes that the [full] council had received [the document] before the press conference.”

Council members such as Lori BoyerJim Love, and John Crescimbeni appeared at a press conference called by Bill Gulliford, but Hazouri wasn’t there.

“The bottom line is that we need to get to the truth,” Hazouri said.  “We know the seriousness of the unfunded liability and now we need to find what lies beneath.”
