After yet another month of lackluster fundraising, the House District 14 campaign of Democrat Leslie Scott Jean-Bart has officially spent more than it’s taking in, with a $1,000 loan in October the only thing keeping the campaign from being in a negative fund balance position.
The candidate, through October, raised $19,491; she has spent $19,897, and with the loan, she has slightly less than $600 cash on hand.
October was a month of financial hemorrhage for the campaign, with $2,460 raised and $4,556 spent.
Almost half of that money raised: a maximum contribution from Terrell Hogan, the law firm where she works. Beyond that, small donations from private individuals, including Democratic operatives Angie Nixon (instrumental in Mayor Alvin Brown‘s re-election campaign) and Hazel Gillis.
The expenditures with this campaign have seemed out-sized given the modest fundraising in recent months, and October is no different.
The big spend: $2,500 to Campbell Communications in Tampa, which offers “ideation sessions” and “insight generation tools.”
