According to recently submitted compensation reports, Dean Mead‘s five member lobbying team generated an estimated $220,000 in 3Q lobbying fees.
Clients Lykes Brothers, Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar, and Evans Properties topped the ledger books in earnings for the firm, bringing in some $60,000 among the three.
Municipal clients such as the City of Clearwater, Charlotte County, Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners, and the Manatee County Board of County Commissioners also brought in up to $9,999 each, for both executive and legislative advocacy.
Affiliated hospitality giants Marriott International and Marriott Vacations Worldwide racked up approximately $10,000 in fees apiece between the July 1 – September 30 reporting period.
The firm also represents the legal eagles at The Florida Bar and the Conference of Circuit Judges of Florida, who together compensated the firm around $20,000.
Of the total 18 clients in legislative work and 18 clients in executive work, the majority contributed between $1 and $9,999 in fees, for estimated totals $110,000 and $110,00 respectively.
State law requires lobbying firms to submit compensation reports quarterly. They are permitted in most cases to simply report an approximate range of client compensation — e.g., $1-$9,999 — in lieu of the specific dollar amount.
