Marco Rubio is kicking off 2016 with a swing through three early voting states.
The Florida senator is expected to make three campaign stops in South Carolina on Saturday. He’ll start the day at with a meet-and-greet at Mutt’s BBQ Easley, in Easley, South Carolina, before heading to Hilton Head for a meet-and-greet.
On Friday, the campaign announced it was moving the Hilton Head event to a larger venue because of interest. Rubio will wrap up his daylong South Carolina swing a with a meet-and-greet at Hudson’s Smokehouse BBQ in Lexington.
On Sunday, Rubio heads to New Hampshire, where he’s scheduled to hold a town hall in Milford before attending a New England Patriots watch party. The Patriots play the Miami Dolphins.
Rubio has two other town hall meetings — in Raymond and Hampton, New Hampshire — scheduled for Sunday. On Monday, he’s scheduled to hold a town-hall meeting in the American Legion Hooksett, New Hampshire, where he is expected to deliver a national security speech.
Rubio will continue his “New Year, New American Century Early Swing” tour with a series of town hall meetings in Iowa. He is expected to hold events in five Iowa cities between Monday and Wednesday.
National polling averages compiled by RealClearPolitics, a polling aggregation site, show Rubio is in third place, behind businessman Donald Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz. He trails both men in Iowa and South Carolina; and is second in New Hampshire behind Trump.
