Rick Scott sends New Year’s greeting

Rick Scott

Rick Scott rang in 2016 with a New Year’s message sponsored by his political committee.

Scott released a 15-second video using his campaign Twitter account Friday morning. In the message, Scott wishes Floridians a Happy New Year, before saying “2016 is going to be a great year for Florida.”

“We’ll hit a milestone cutting a billion dollars in taxes and creating a million jobs in just five years,” the Naples Republican says during the video, sponsored by “Let’s Get to Work.”  “But don’t think we’re stopping there. Let’s keep working.”

The committee supports Scott, and raised millions support his campaigns. In November,  the organization raised $116,300. The committee raised more than $3.9 million between Jan. 1, 2015 and Nov. 30, 2015

In August, Matt Dixon with Politico Florida reported that the committee had spent $2.6 million on political expenses.

Scott cannot run for re-election in 2018 because of term limits, but many think he may be considering a 2018 bid for Senate.
