Feeling the Bern: Debbie Wasserman-Schultz to come to Jacksonville?

US-POLITICS-DNC-WASSERMAN SCHULTZ

With polls tightening in early states between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, the Clinton side is increasingly conscious of bringing the base back home.

To that end, apparently, DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz has told Jacksonville’s arm of the Clinton campaign that “she will soon come speak with the Duval County Democrats,” according to the Jacksonville Florida for Hillary Clinton Facebook page.

Meanwhile, the plot thickens. Those connected with the local arm Clinton campaign said on Monday that the report is not true, and that page is not official.

Most of the political establishment has fallen in behind Clinton, and a running theory is that DWS, in scheduling debates as she has, has worked to cement Clinton’s status as the presumptive front runner by minimizing Sanders’ opportunities to reach the American public on the debate stage.

One read of DWS’ intent (if it existed) to come to Jacksonville would be concern over Sanders energizing the Democratic grassroots beyond the early battleground states.

Rigged politics. We get it. Now, get rid of Little Debbie, so we can have some “We the People”, not “We the Puppets”.
