Republican congressional candidate Justin Grabelle hosts a meet-and-greet fundraising reception in Pinellas County next month featuring special guest U.S. Rep. David Jolly.
Grabelle, 33, is running for Florida’s 11th Congressional District, which includes Citrus, Hernando, Lake, Marion and Sumter counties. He has already been endorsed by current CD 11 U.S. Rep. Richard Nugent, who announced he would not run for re-election. Grabelle had been Nugent’s chief of staff.
Jolly, who represents much of Pinellas County, is himself the leading Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Marco Rubio as he mounts a presidential campaign.
The event is Monday, Feb. 8, beginning 5:30 p.m. at Bascom’s Chophouse, 3665 Olmert and Road in Clearwater.
According to the invite obtained by FloridaPolitics.com, the event’s host committee includes several Tampa Bay area young Republicans: JJ Beyrouti, Nick DiCeglie, LJ Govoni, Berny Jacques, Paul Jallo, Todd Jennings, Gordon Oldham IV and Megan Roach.
In the GOP primary, Grabelle so far faces just Rev. Jack Martin, who recently entered the race. As for others, Dave Koller is the only announced Democrat, while Matthew John Schnackenberg is listed as the Libertarian Party candidate.
