Wednesday afternoon, Gov. Rick Scott announced seven reappointments to a variety of state regulatory boards. All of the following are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
Central Florida Regional Planning Council
Scott began with an announcement of the reappointments of Hazel Sellers and Donna Howerton to the Central Florida Regional Planning Council, which serves DeSoto, Hardee, Highlands, Okeechobee and Polk counties.
Sellers, 64, of Bartow, is a Polk County School Board Member. She is reappointed for a term ending October 1, 2018.
Howerton, 60, of Sebring, is the vice president of South Ridge Abstract. She is reappointed for a term ending October 1, 2018.
South Florida Regional Planning Council
Scott next reappointed Cary Goldberg to the South Florida Regional Planning Council, which serves Monroe, Miami-Dade and Broward counties, which encompasses 71 municipalities and 4.3 million residents.
Goldberg, 42, of Deerfield Beach, is the president of Diversified Realty Development Co. He is reappointed for a term ending October 1, 2018.
Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council
Scott announced the reappointments of Reece Parrish and Mark Llano to the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council, which serves Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin and Palm Beach counties.
Parrish, 62, of Fort Pierce, is a senior detective with the Florida Department of Financial Services Fraud Division. He is reappointed for a term ending October 1, 2018.
Llano, 47, of Lake Worth, is the president and chief executive officer of Source One Distributors. He is reappointed for a term ending October 1, 2018.
Scott also reappointed Joseph Frey to the Board of Respiratory Care, which was established to ensure every Respiratory Therapist in the state meets minimum requirements for state practice.
Frey, 33, of Longwood, is a respiratory therapy manager with Select Specialty Hospital. He is reappointed for a term ending October 31, 2019.
Northeast Florida Regional Planning Council
finally, Scott announced the reappointment of Darryl Register to the Northeast Florida Regional Planning Council, which serves seven counties – Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Putnam, Nassau and St. Johns – and their 27 municipalities.
Register, 52, of Glen Saint Mary, is the executive director for Baker County Chamber of Commerce. He is reappointed for a term ending October 1, 2018.
