Donald Trump‘s campaign finally has officially announced he’ll be speaking in Tampa for the first time as a presidential candidate. The event at the USF Sun Dome takes place at 7 p.m. Friday. Doors open at 5 p.m.
Trump has appeared twice in Sarasota during the past year. One came in May, before he was a declared candidate, when he was (somewhat controversially) picked by the local Republican Party’s as its “Man of the Year.” He visited again in late November, two days after Thanksgiving.
He’s banking on winning Tuesday in the New Hampshire primary, where he continues to be a prohibitive favorite in the polls, leading the pack by about 30 percent of the vote.
Florida’s presidential primary takes place March 15.
