Four candidates — including Marco Rubio and Jeb Bush — are battling it out for second place in New Hampshire, according to a new Monmouth University Poll.
The survey found four Republicans are essentially tied for second place. Donald Trump maintains the top spot in the Monmouth University Poll with 30 percent.
John Kasich is at 14 percent, followed by Rubio and Bush at 13 percent. Ted Cruz is at 12 percent, while Chris Christie is at 6 percent.
About half (49 percent) of the likely Republican primary voters polled said they had completely decided who they were going to support; while 31 percent said they had a strong preference.
“Volatility is the name of the game in 2016’s first primary contest, just as it was in the first caucus state last week,” said Patrick Murray, director of the Monmouth University Polling Institute. “While Trump’s placement as the top finisher seems fairly secure at this point, the margin of victory and final order of the remaining candidates are still very much up for grabs.”
More Republican voters (55 percent) said a candidate who shares their values is more important than someone who can win the White House.
On the Democratic side, Bernie Sanders leads Hillary Clinton, 52 percent to 42 percent.
The Monmouth University Poll was conducted between Feb. 4 and Feb. 6. It has a margin of error of 4.4 percent.
