Susannah Randolph has picked up another endorsement from the Democrats Progressive wing for her race for the Congressional District 9 nomination, this time from U.S. Rep. Raul Grijalva of Arizona.
Grijalva is co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.
“As a community organizer who has dedicated her career to protecting our environment, Susannah knows how to be a strong advocate for our natural resources and our community,” Grijalva stated in a news release issued by the Randolph campaign. “She will fight for those without a voice and that makes me proud to endorse her campaign.”
Randolph faces a primary fight against state Sen. Darren Soto of Orlando, Valleri Crabtree, Dr. Dena Minning and former state Rep. Ricardo Rangel.
As a high-ranking Democrat on the Natural Resources Committee, Rep. Grijalva has been at the forefront of the movement to address and combat climate change. Most recently, Rep. Grijalva and the Congressional Progressive Caucus rolled out a climate-change resolution with plans to move to 100 percent renewable energy by 2050.
