Susannah Randolph has won the endorsement of the National Women’s Political Caucus in her bid for the Democratic nomination for Florida’s Congressional District 9, her campaign announced.

The NWPC, founded in 1971, is a national, multi-partisan, grassroots membership organization dedicated to identifying, recruiting, training and supporting women candidates for elected and appointed office.

The group cited Randolph’s strong record fighting for women’s rights and reproductive heath care.

“As a life-long advocate for women, minorities, and the environment, Susannah Randolph demonstrates the commitment and leadership it takes to advocate for equality and will be a strong voice for women when elected to the U.S. House,” Paula Owen Willmarth, NWPC vice president for political planning, stated in a press release issued by Randolph’s campaign.

She is in a primary battle with two other women, Dr. Dena Minning and Valleri Crabtree, though Randolph and state Sen. Darren Soto of Orlando are the leading candidates. They are seeking to replace U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson, D-Orlando, in the district considered safe for Democrats.
