Marco Rubio trails Donald Trump by double-digits in Florida, according to a new CNN/ORC poll.
Trump leads the GOP field in the Sunshine State, with 40 percent support. Rubio is in second with 24 percent, followed by Ted Cruz at 19 percent and John Kasich at 5 percent.
The CNN/ORC poll comes less than a week before the March 15 primary. Ninety-nine delegates are up for grabs in Florida’s winner-take-all Republican primary.
The survey found that 66 percent of likely Republican voters said Rubio should drop out if he doesn’t win his home state. Two-thirds of Florida’s electorate said they have definitely decided who to support.
More than 1.2 million ballots have already been cast in Florida. State elections records show more than 692,000 Republicans have cast ballots, compared to more than 542,000 Democrats.
Trump isn’t just beating Rubio in his home state; he’s also leading Ohio. The survey found Trump leads Kasich, the state’s governor, 41 percent to 35 percent. Cruz is in third with 15 percent followed by Rubio with 7 percent.
The CNN/ORC poll found Hillary Clinton leads Bernie Sander 61 percent to 34 percent in Florida. She leads Sanders 63 percent to 33 percent in the Buckeye State
