Congressional Democrats in Washington have spoken … and they prefer Patrick Murphy over Alan Grayson in the Senate race, with 45 names released Thursday.

“I’m honored to have so many progressive leaders and Democratic colleagues supporting my campaign for U.S. Senate,”  Murphy said. “In the House of Representatives, we have stood together to strengthen our middle class, protect Social Security and Medicare for our seniors, and fight to protect women’s health care. In the U.S. Senate, I will continue fighting for these priorities, and I’m humbled by the momentum we continue to build across Florida and the nation.”

The names include nine members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, multiple members of the Congressional LGBT Equality and Black Caucuses, and, interestingly enough, given Grayson’s support for the candidate, a Bernie Sanders surrogate who worked Florida: Hawaii Representative Tulsi Gabbard.
