A quiet month for Donnie Horner ($2,625), coupled with a strong one for Sheri Treadwell ($16,400), puts her ahead for the first time in the House District 11 money race.
Treadwell’s $104,820 raised as of the March numbers puts her just $670 over Horner in total money raised, though her cash on hand advantage exceeds Horner’s by about $12,000 (with a spread of about $92,000 to $80,000).
Big names who lined up behind Treadwell in March include W.W. Gay and the Haskell Co., two bellwethers of establishment comfort with a candidate. Others include the Summit Contracting Group of Marc and Nicole Padgett, both exceedingly helpful to Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry during his campaign.
In terms of fundraising, it’s a two-person race. Barry Holloway has about $13,000 on hand, Cord Byrd has about $25,000 on hand, and Tom Taylor has about $12,000 on hand.
Taylor, who scored early endorsements from Beaches elected leaders, has not raised enough to make some of his early endorsers happy. That raises the question: Will any jump ship?
David Bunk and Jack Daniels, the other two candidates in the seven-person race, have not raised any money yet.
