Rick Scott goes "On the Move" with statewide TV campaign for 2015 priorities

Scott on the move

As the Legislative Session starts, Gov. Rick Scott is pushing his priorities with a statewide TV ad blitz.

Using TV makes Scott one of the first Florida governors to make use of direct television campaigns, instead of depending on earned media most elected officials rely on.

Produced by his Let’s Get to Work PAC, the 30-second spot starts airing Thursday in all Florida markets, including broadcast, cable, and satellite.

Although few details were available, Scott — who spent about $70 million on TV spots for his re-election effort — is likely to pay about  $1 million, usually the smallest budget for a statewide cable and broadcast campaign.

The video is now available on YouTube.

Scott is featured in “On the Move,” the first spot, that offers a positive message that the governor is “working with your legislators” to follow through his campaign platform: cutting taxes by $500 million, increasing school spending, and protecting Florida’s environment.

“Florida, where dreams come true,” Scott says.

“We believe you can spend your money better than government can,” he says. “That’s a dream come true — and that’s your Florida.”

Part of the money is likely to come from the $580,000 Scott pulled out of the Republican Party of Florida on Jan. 16, after the contentious election for RPOF chair.
