Today, Mercury announced a new addition to its Florida public affairs team, Danielle Alvarez, who is joining the team as Vice President.
Alvarez is a seasoned strategist and brings years of experience in communications, government relations, event execution, coalition building and grassroots mobilization. Most recently, she served as the Director of External Affairs at Enterprise Florida. She previously served as the Press Secretary for Lt. Gov. Carlos López-Cantera, where she managed all communication for the LG in both English and Spanish. During the 2014 election cycle, Alvarez was the Statewide Events Coordinator for the successful re-election campaign of Gov. Rick Scott.
A Florida native with diverse and extensive experience in the culture and politics of the Sunshine State, Alvarez will advance the ongoing expansion of Mercury and help build out the Florida team.
“Mercury continues to build Florida’s premier, bipartisan public affairs firm and Danielle brings a combination of communications and political experience that will be an asset to our team in the Sunshine State,” said Mercury CEO and founding partner Kieran Mahoney. “We’re excited about our growth and thrilled to add Danielle to our team of talented professionals.”
“Mercury has created an expert team and I am thrilled to be joining such an outstanding group of people in my home state,” said Alvarez. “I look forward to utilizing my expertise to provide successful outcomes for our clients.”
Mercury, a national bipartisan public strategy firm, first launched a Florida office in 2013. The company is led by Mahoney, along with Managing Director Ashley Walker.
“Mercury continues to put together the state’s most talented team of public affairs professionals,” said Walker. “Danielle has proven her ability to execute strategic communications and political tactics to achieve results and we are excited to bring her experience and knowledge to our growing team.”
