On Thursday, Gov. Rick Scott announced three appointments to a pair of state boards dealing with the construction industry. The appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
Florida Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board
Scott began by reappointing Timothy Bolduc and Edwin Valentin to the Florida Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board, which is responsible for licensing and regulating building code administrators, inspectors and plans examiners.
Bolduc, 39, of Fort Walton Beach, is the development services manager for the City of Fort Walton Beach. He is reappointed for a term ending Oct. 31, 2019.
Valentin, 53, of Orlando, is a building inspector for the City of Winter Haven. He is reappointed for a term ending Oct. 31, 2019.
Next, Scott named Kelley Smith Burk to the Florida Building Commission, a 26-member technical body tasked with the development, maintenance and interpretation of the Florida Building Code. The commission represents a broad range of interests, including architects, engineers, contractors, building owners, local governments and various officials.
Smith Burk, 37, of Tallahassee, is the Office of Energy director for the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. She fills a vacant position for a term ending Oct. 31, 2018.
